John Hartson shares reaction to match-winning Rangers penalty v Dundee United
John Harston sarcastically reacted to Rangers being handed a penalty which they converted to beat Dundee United 1-0 on Saturday.
Scott McMann clearly handled the ball in the penalty area which saw the referee point to the spot.
James Tavernier showed no hesitation in putting the ball into the back of the net, but Hartson hints at Gers being helped by the officials, despite being the better team all game.
Via his personal Twitter account, he wrote, “There’s a shock!”
Clear bias
There were Dundee United players protesting the decision, but even they knew that the referee had made the right decision.
Even Tam Courts, after the game, admitted that it was a penalty and that the Gers deserved their three points.
He told BBC Sportsound, “We got a bit of live feedback during the game that it probably was a penalty from a trailing arm. That’s just something we’ve got to accept.”
Hartson is just showing his bias here and hinting that Rangers won only because of the referees.

He probably finds it hard to come to terms with the fact that Gers are so far ahead and better than the chasing pack.
Hopefully, other teams around them drop more points so that they’re more comfortable going into the new year.
As for Hartson, it’s best to let him continue crying while Gers fans can focus on enjoying their football and wins under the new manager.
