Heart and Hand shares reason for Rangers dropping Joe Aribo v Dundee United

Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo has been rested for the Dundee United clash and there’s understood to be no injury or any other reason for it.

That’s according to Heart and Hand, the club’s official media partner, who reacted once the lineup was announced.

Glen Kamara, Scott Arfield and John Lundstram will be the three midfield players for Gers as they look to extend their lead at the top of the table.

Relief

The 25-year-old Nigerian has been a regular in this Rangers side both under Steven Gerrard as well as Giovanni van Bronckhorst.

He’s put in a shift in midfield typically, but has also thrived in a more advanced role on occasion.

It came as a massive surprise that he was dropped to the bench for this game, but it turns out that GvB is only resting him.

Aribo is one of the most important players in this team and it remains to be seen how the squad fares in his absence.

Kamara has been spectacular in the last few games and we would be hoping for Lundstram and Arfield to continue their relative good form in this one.

We do expect Aribo to come on at some time during the game, but it shouldn’t be to change the outcome of it.

It would be best if the Gers were in cruise control and he would just be brought on to keep up his match fitness.
