Heart and Hand comment on Dundee United covid situation ahead of Rangers clash

Rangers will face Dundee United in the Scottish Premiership clash on Saturday at Ibrox.

According to a report by The Daily Record on Wednesday, the fixture is now in doubt after the Tannadice club has been hit by the Covid outbreak.

Rangers’ official media partner, Head and Heart podcast, has taken to Twitter to express their reaction after the news broke out.

Rangers

While there is a genuine concern about the latest covid outbreak, Head and Heart recall what happened last season against Celtic, when Rangers had to play with a depleted squad, and still managed to win 1-0.

They wrote on Twitter: “Need this resolved ASAP but I don’t recall much sympathy when we had a Covid outbreak and beat Celtic with Jimmy Bell and Dougie Park in centre (midfield).”

Concern

Dundee United are fearing a covid-19 outbreak among the playing staff.

According to reports from Sky Sports, the club have cancelled training ahead of their Premiership clash after one player has been tested positive.

The club are waiting for further PCR tests, but the match is likely to go ahead.

As per the rule, teams must have at least 13 fit players including a goalkeeper for a match to take place.

They are fourth in the Premiership after an impressive start under Thomas Courts.

Meanwhile, Rangers will face St Johnstone in their SPFL clash on Wednesday night at Ibrox.

The Gers are in fantastic form under Giovanni van Bronckhorst, and they are expected to pick up maximum points from this game.

Rangers are on a seven-match winning run in the Scottish Premiership. Van Bronckhorst has made a solid start at Ibrox, winning six and drawing one in his opening seven games.
