BBC pundit blown away by Joe Aribo against St Johnstone

Richard Foster was stunned by the performance of Rangers man Joe Aribo against St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday.

The Gers sealed a comfortable 2-0 win over the 12th-placed side as they extended their lead at the top of the table.

Aribo didn’t score, but he was excellent once more and helped Giovanni van Bronckhorst get another win as the Dutchman maintains his sublime start in the league.

Speaking on the BBC, the former Gers defender said: “Joe Aribo has been Rangers’ star man so far this evening and, even before the goal, it was already a bit of a training match for them.”

Another comfortable win.

The 24-year-old has grown so much as a player since he joined from Charlton Athletic.

However, you could say that his performances and displays have improved under van Bronckhorst’s guidance, and he is growing in influence in every game.

Aribo has quick feet and a quick brain as well. He can drive from deep, and he just looks like the ideal all-round midfielder.

Clearly, he impressed Foster, and his stock appears to be rising with each passing game.

This was another comfortable win for the Bears, who are starting to look more like the machine they were last season.

Aribo was a key player last season under Steven Gerrard, and he appears to become more and more important with each passing game for the Bears this season as well.

The question is, though, how long can they keep hold of him playing like this?

In other Rangers news, Gordon Smith was left baffled by one decision in the first half.
