Alex Rae reacts to Rangers win v St Johnstone

Rangers secured a comfortable 2-0 victory against St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership at Ibrox on Wednesday night.

Goals from Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent in either half sealed all three points for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side.

BT Sport pundit Alex Rae took to Twitter to express his reaction after the game. He has picked Joe Aribo as the player of the match.

Rae wrote on Twitter:

“FT. Rangers 2-0 St Johnstone. Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Kent with the goals. Another clean sheet. MOTM. Aribo”

Terrific start

It’s been a dream start under the new boss.

After the defeat against Hibernian in the Scottish Cup, it felt like the Gers could crumble under pressure this season.

However, the transition from the Steven Gerrard era has been very smooth.

Van Bronckhorst hasn’t made any huge changes. He has merely tweaked the system a bit, and it is working wonders at the moment.

He has maintained his 100% league record with six wins in a row; his side sailing smoothly despite the abrupt departure of Gerrard.

Alfredo Morelos seems to have picked up his mojo back and has returned to his goalscoring best. Ryan Kent has been outstanding since the Dutchman took over.

However, one player who has been head and shoulder above the rest is Joe Aribo. He keeps on producing stellar performance in every game.

Rangers were aggressive in their attacking play, with Aribo once playing an influential role in midfield.

In other Rangers news, Gordon Smith was baffled by one of Anderson’s decisions in the first half against St Johnstone.
