Andrew Dickson: Connor Goldson has been revitalised by Giovanni van Bronckhorst
Rangers centre-back Connor Goldson has been revitalised by new manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, says journalist Andrew Dickson.
After playing a key role in winning the Scottish Premiership title last season, Goldson suffered a dip in form at the start of the current campaign.
However, he has been back to his best in recent weeks and has helped Rangers keep four clean sheets in six matches under van Bronckhorst.

Writing on his Twitter account, Sky Sports journalist Dickson praised a turnaround in fortunes for the defender.
“Six games into the Gio reign, where is everyone sitting now on Goldson?” he said. “I thought after the Hibs semi that he was almost certainly wanting out… but his response to the new manager has been excellent and I feel he’s looked much more like himself. Seems galvanised by the manager.”
New lease of life

After Rangers lost the Scottish League Cup semi-final to Hibernian the centre-back said that the team lacked “hunger”, which led to suggestions that his future lay away from Glasgow.

However, his performances since van Bronckhorst has come in suggest that he has been given a new lease of life by the appointment.
The Dutchman’s start to life in the Rangers dugout could not have gone much better, as he has won five of his first six games; the other being a very creditable 1-1 draw away at Lyon in the Europa League.
Goldson got a sensational assist in the 2-0 victory over Hearts on Sunday (12 December) as he played a pinpoint ball over the top to Joe Aribo who finished expertly.
In other Rangers news, a Sky Sports pundit called for VAR in Scotland following the Bears’ win over Hearts.
