Owen Hargreaves stunned by Giovanni van Bronckhorst start at Rangers live on BT Sports
Owen Hargreaves has been left stunned by the start of Giovanni van Bronckhorst after taking over from Steven Gerrard at Rangers.
The Dutchman is still undefeated since moving to Ibrox, picking up a big point at Lyon and following it up with the win at Hearts.
Hargreaves admitted he was “amazed” at the performance in France, with the Gers matching what he believes was one of the best teams in the tournament.

Speaking live on BT Sports this afternoon ahead of the draw, Hargreaves admitted he was pleasantly surprised.
“They have played really well under Giovanni van Bronckhorst,” he said.
“Tough ask taking over from Steven Gerrard, but he’s done really great. Obviously, they’re not favourites, but they’re in a really great position.
“I was amazed that they went to Lyon in the last matchday and matched them.”

Amazed?
It may have stunned those who haven’t seen much of Rangers under Van Bronckhorst, but it didn’t shock us one little bit.
The Bears have introduced a new solid spine throughout the side, and pushing the winger wider which has led to the full-backs becoming more reserved has helped in each third.
It hasn’t led to a goal drought, but it has finally delivered more clean sheets something that Gerrard was failing to produce during his final weeks and months this season.
Now though, the pressure and opposition are going up a notch and Borussia Dortmund in the next round will really test Van Bronckhorst and this new set-up.
If Hargreaves was “amazed” at the Lyon result, we can’t wait to see his reaction if a positive result is picked up against the Germans.
