Michael Stewart delivers Rangers verdict after win v Hearts
Michael Stewart believes that Rangers were lucky during their 2-0 win over Hearts on Sunday afternoon.
Gers scored two early goals to be in the ascendancy in the contest and could have been pegged back towards the end should Hearts have been handed a penalty.
The players protested after the ball was deemed to hit Connor Goldson’s hand, but the referee waved it off and allowed play to go on.

Discussing this incident and the game on BBC Sportscene, Stewart said, “Rangers rode their luck this afternoon, there’s no doubt about it.
“All the big moments went the way of Rangers. This is another big moment (Goldson penalty claim). Now, for me, this isn’t a penalty. I don’t think Goldson’s doing anything wrong.
“But under the current rules, it is a penalty. It hits his hand. I don’t like the current rules, they need to be changed, but by the rules, it’s a penalty.”
So salty
Every Rangers win brings about more hate and frustration from Stewart and it was again apparent here.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men were, by far, the better team on the day and deserved the three points.
The fact that he himself agrees it shouldn’t be a penalty but then makes a case for why it should, tells you that he’s arguing his way back from his own conclusion.

Kudos to the referee for making the right decision as it would’ve unnecessarily given Hearts a way back into the game.
They didn’t seem like coming close to ruffling the Rangers feathers, but a one-goal lead with a decent amount of time to play could have nerved the defending champions.
Thankfully, they held on to their lead and ended up winning the game comfortably.
