Jermain Defoe wowed by Joe Aribo’s goal in Rangers 2-0 win v Hearts
Jermain Defoe has taken to his personal Instagram account to react to Joe Aribo’s goal as Rangers secured a 2-0 win over Hearts on Sunday.
The Nigerian international doubled the Bears’ lead 13 minutes into the game at Tynecastle Park yesterday (12 December), controlling Connor Goldson’s long pass with a deft touch before beating Craig Gordon with a fine finish.
The veteran hitman was impressed with the technique on display, and he only had one word to describe it before adding a fire emoji.

Defoe said: “Wow.”
Excellent
The Rangers striker has scored over 300 goals in his career and seen a lot of them being scored, and the fact that Aribo’s own impressed him speaks volumes.
Defoe was not included in Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s matchday squad, but he could not help but react to the strike.
He hardly reacts to key moments and incidents from the Light Blues games on social media, and it is safe to say it took something special to force his hands.
Aribo has now bagged four goals in his last five league games, and it is not a surprise that Premier League clubs are keeping tabs on him.

Rangers need to hand him a new and improved deal as soon as possible or end up losing him for nothing.
Goldson also reminded everyone of his quality on the ball, picking out the midfielder on the run with a stunning long-range pass, and the club cannot afford to lose him for nothing at the end of the campaign.
Rangers had failed to win on their last three visits to Tynecastle, but they strolled to a comfortable victory to maintain their lead at the top of the table, and life under GvB is going well.
