BBC journalist Tom English shares instant reaction to Rangers draw v Borussia Dortmund

Tom English has shared his reaction to Rangers drawing Borussia Dortmund in the next round of the Europa League.

After the Champions League draw was forced to be re-drawn today (13th December) the Europa League went smoothly.

English was thrilled at the draw for the Bears but did appear to take a sly dig that it could be re-drawn at UEFA’s expense.

Writing on his personal Twitter account minutes after the draw this afternoon, English shared his reaction.

“Great draw, but…”

It looks as though this is a sly dig at the Champions League draw, which may need to be re-done after slight mistakes with their procedure beforehand.

Wow.

This is exactly the type of draw we have been waiting for.

When you see the big teams spitting their dummies out just because they have been given a tough tie, it only reminds you of the challenge facing the Bears.

Having said that, you will find no one at Ibrox complaining about this one – this is a challenge that everyone will be relishing, home and away.

This will only replicate the sort of nights facing us should we qualify for the Champions League next year, something that will happen automatically if we lift the Scottish Premiership.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst will be buzzing for this one, and this will be another real taste of an incredible Ibrox atmosphere from the dugout on these European nights – bring it on.
