Rangers confirmed XI v Hearts: Lundstram drops to bench
Rangers have made a total of six changes from the side that came within touching distance to beat Lyon in the Europa League.
While there was not much riding on that one, a lot on the game against Hearts today (December 12), given both side’s league positions.
Kemar Roofe’s absence is one of the most glaring omissions in this side after he struggled v Lyon.
Connor Goldson, Calvin Bassey, Borna Barisic, Glen Kamara and Ryan Kent are the only survivors from the Lyon eleven, with six new players coming in.
It’s important for Rangers to prove in this top of the table clash why they are no pushovers.
Hearts are going to play with nothing to lose so the onus will be on Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men to seize the initiative.
Glen Kamara impressed in mid-week against Lyon and Gers fans will be hoping to see more of the same from him here today.
With just one league defeat all season, the Glasgow giants are the overwhelming favourites but must take nothing for granted against the fourth-place side.
They’re on the back of five league wins and two clean sheets and GvB will be asking for more of the same from his men again.
Should Gers pick up three points here, they will extend their lead at the top of the table to seven points with Celtic sitting on 35 points.
