Barry Ferguson reacts to Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack’s latest injury
Rangers midfielder Ryan Jack has picked up an injury earlier this week and missed the Europa League clash against Lyon on Thursday.
Barry Ferguson has admitted that he was “left worried” and shocked when the news came out as he was expecting the midfielder to get some minutes under his belt.
Giovanni van Bronkhorst revealed after the game (9 December) that he was also hoping to use Jack for this dead-rubber tie, but he has picked up a “slight injury” in training.

Ferguson wrote for the Daily Record: “I’ve got to admit, hearing Giovanni van Bronckhorst speak about Ryan Jack has left me worried.
“I was fully expecting to see him make his first start in nine months against Lyon on Thursday night.
“So to see him not even named on the team-sheet was a shock.
“I was really looking forward to seeing Ryan get a good 60 or 70 minutes under his belt but the fact he was nowhere to be seen at the Groupama Stadium was of immediate concern.”
Tough luck
The 29-year-old picked up an injury last season and missed the title-run in for Rangers. He also missed the European championships with Scotland.

The midfielder underwent surgery at the end of last season. It has taken time for him to return to full fitness, but it seems he has now picked up another injury.
Ferguson hopes that it’s not serious, as Jack is a “top performer”, and he has plenty to offer this season.
Ryan was loved by Steven Gerrard a lot and he was one of his key players.
However, Van Bronckhorst hasn’t been able to see him closely and it seems he will have to wait for a while before he returns to full sharpness.
