Barry Ferguson: Joe Aribo may leave Rangers for Premier League club

Barry Ferguson believes that Joe Aribo has been the best player for Rangers this season in the SPL.

The 25-year-old has started in all league games this season and has bagged five goals and two assists in 16 games.

He’s also played in every Europa League match and Ferguson believes that a Premier League switch could be on the cards in the future.

He said on Go Radio, “He has been Rangers’ best player by a country mile, there is no doubt about it.

“For me, Joe Aribo is the outstanding player for Rangers. And I’d be worried that a club down in the English Premier League are going to be looking at Joe Aribo.

“He has got everything for a central midfielder. He has got pace, power, he can handle the ball and the most important thing is that he has added goals to his game and that would put a few 0s to his transfer fee.”

Exit bound?

It’s hard to keep players like Aribo under the radar given how impressive his performances have been thus far.

He’s taken his game from strength to strength to become a terrifying prospect for club and country.

At 25, he’s not even in his prime yet and may get there in a couple of years.

Whether he realises his ambitions with Rangers or feels the need to move is all down to him and how the team fares in the next six months to a year.

Should he be willing to move, there will not be a shortage of Premier League clubs queuing up for his services.

Hopefully, he stays put, but the lure of the English top flight is enough to attract the best in Scotland.
