Ryan Kent responds to transfer speculation as Rangers star linked with Aston Villa

By Tom Griffin

Following the departure of Steven Gerrard to Aston Villa, eyebrows were raised over the future of Ryan Kent, with Premier League clubs reportedly interested in him.

Kent played a vital role in helping the Gers win the league title last season and although Gerrard’s departure could have turned his attentions elsewhere, the 25-year-old remains focused on life at Ibrox.

The winger has started in every game under Giovanni van Bronckhorst and having had a taste of silverware last season, Kent is hungry to add more medals to his cabinet and has shrugged off speculation linking him with a move down south to Aston Villa [Birmingham Mail].

“The immediate future is me playing for Rangers and giving my best”, Kent told Sky Sports, as quoted by the Daily Record.

“I want to be more successful here at this football club. I’ve still got a lot to show and a lot to win as well so my concentration is here.”

Crucial Kent

Having openly admitted about his future being with Rangers, supporters can relish seeing Kent tear apart defences in the Scottish Premiership for the foreseeable, with rumours of a potential departure being quashed.

In a season that has been hampered by injuries, Kent has shown glimpses of his unerring talents under the new Rangers boss, having scored on his first match in charge against Ross County and won the penalty in the latest match against Hibernian.

In the latest clips of Kent terrorising defences in the Scottish Premier League, he jinked into the box and drew the foul from Ryan Porteous to give Rangers a chance to snatch a lead late on, to which they obliged.

With Kent committing his future to Rangers, he forms the exciting quartet that van Bronckhorst has at his disposal.

Through Kent, Joe Aribo, Ianis Hagi and Alfredo Morelos, Rangers possess the fearsome four that are looking to fire Rangers to consecutive SPL titles.

In other Rangers news, the Gers are in talks with Mina Raiola about signing one of his outstanding clients.
