John Hartson aims public dig at Rangers after Easter Road incident
John Hartson has had a sly dig at Rangers after they were awarded a penalty against Hibernian.
The former Celtic and Wales striker had a sarcastic dig at the Gers on his Twitter account as Kemar Roofe slammed home a penalty.
Hartson can’t have watched the game, because otherwise, he would have realised that it was a stonewall spot-kick, and the referee was spot on.
Hartson said: “There’s a shock.”
Blatant penalty.
This was Rangers’ fourth penalty of the season in the SPFL, so you can sort of see where Hartson is coming from.
However, there won’t be any more blatant penalties than the one the Gers were awarded on Wednesday night.
Ryan Kent picked up the ball on the left and moved back inside onto his right boot.
Ryan Porteous came steaming across and brought him down.

It was a clear a penalty, as you are likely to see.
Hopefully, after the game, Hartson sat down and watched the highlights and realised that this was a dreadful challenge that deservedly ended up in the Gers winning a spot-kick [SPFL highlights].
This was an important result for the Bears, and the pressure is all on Celtic now, who are seven points behind the Gers before they play tonight.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has kept up his 100% record after a fine start to life as the new Gers boss.
This was by no means their best display of the season, but Hibs are a tough side and the Bears will be pleased with their work in Edinburgh.
In other Rangers news, Neil McCann has had his say on van Bronckhorst’s start.
