Giovanni van Bronckhorst reacts as Rangers secure 1-0 win v Hibernian

Giovanni van Bronckhorst took to Twitter to react after Rangers secured a 1-0 win away at Hibernian in the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday night.

Kemar Roofe scored from the spot in the 85th minute to earn all three points for the visitors at Easter Road.

The Gers have now moved seven points clear of Celtic at the top of the table having played a game more.

Van Bronckhorst wrote on Twitter: “Three points. Tough game. Big result. Thanks for your support.”

Crucial win

It was an important win for the Gers who have made a perfect start since the Dutchman took charge of the club. They have now made it three wins in a row in all competitions under him.

Rangers were sluggish throughout the game and it looked good for at least a draw, with Hibs doing admirably well to keep the visitors under control.

Ryan Kent produced a moment of brilliance and drew a foul from Ryan Porteous, allowing Roofe to convert from the spot.

Hibernian dismantled Rangers in the League Cup semi-final last month when Gio only watched it from the stands.

The best chance, however, came to Alfredo Morelos, who headed wide despite moving brilliantly between the centre-backs to meet a clever cross from Joe Aribo.

It is the hallmark of a champion side to grind out results despite not playing well, and Rangers certainly have done that against Hibs on Wednesday.

In other Rangers news, Steven Gerrard wants to sign this Gers ace for just £200,000 despite van Bronckhorst throwing him back into the squad.
