Ryan Kent axed in two changes - Rangers predicted XI v Hibernian

Giovanni van Bronckhorst could make a couple of changes to the Rangers starting XI for Wednesday’s trip to Hibernian.

The Gers beat Livingston 3-1 on Sunday with goals from Scott Arfield, Joe Aribo and Fashion Sakala, but they face a tougher test at Easter Road against a side that beat them only nine days ago.

Martin Boyle was the hat-trick hero for Hibs in their 3-1 League Cup win at Hampden Park.

Van Bronckhorst was officially Rangers manager for that game but he was only in the stands.

He could make changes from Sunday’s win, but the defence should stay the same in front of Allan McGregor.

That means James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Calvin Bassey and Borna Barisic line up in a back-four.

Arfield could drop out of midfield, however, with Steven Davis returning after remaining on the bench at Livingston.

He will partner Glen Kamara in the middle of midfield, and Aribo should play just ahead of the duo.

Ianis Hagi and Alfredo Morelos are likely to keep their places in attack but Ryan Kent, 25, could make way for summer signing Fashion Sakala after the Zambian scored within five minutes of his introduction on Sunday.

That would see the Light Blues make two changes in total, but the likes of Nathan Patterson and John Lundstram will also be pushing for starts.

However, with a supposedly easier clash against Dundee on Saturday, van Bronckhorst may decide to delay wholesale changes.

Here’s how Rangers are expected to line up at Easter Road…
