Max Stryjek was fuming with what happened during Rangers v Livingston

Livingston goalkeeper Max Stryjek was left fuming after Rangers fans threw snowballs at his goal on Sunday.

After the game, his teammate Jack Fitzwater claimed that Stryjek had to be calmed down and dragged away from engaging with the Gers fans [Daily Record].

The Polish keeper tried to have words with the referee as well, but Fitzwater held him back after the game was stopped in the second half so that snowballs could be cleared off the pitch.

Fitzwater also revealed that the only reason the snowballs were cleared was because they might have caused the football to deflect in the Livingston box.

He said: “I had to hold him back; he was complaining to the ref.

“Max is a madman, but we are going to need the whole squad focused for Wednesday because we have so many tough games now.

“We came out for the second half and thought it would just be a bit of stick from the Rangers fans.

“But because of the size of the snowballs, we were complaining to the referee, pointing out that if the ball took a deflection, that’s going to change the course of the ball.”

Stryjek enraged.

It seems as if the Gers fans managed to really annoy the Livi goalkeeper.

It seems odd that the only reason the snowballs were removed from the pitch was because they might have impacted the course of the ball.

Now, we are not so sure if that would have happened, given that they were only snowballs.

Of course, some of them could have contained ice, and that might have impacted the football but also could have been dangerous for the players.

So, though it was just a bit of fun from the travelling Bears fans, you can see why it annoyed the Livingston players because it must have distracted them.

In the end, the referee made the right decision to clear the snowballs from the pitch, and the Gers held on for what could prove to be a valuable three points in the cold.
