Rangers team news v Livingston: Van Bronckhorst confirms duo ruled out
Leon Balogun and Kemar Roofe have been ruled out of playing for Rangers when they take on Livingston on Sunday.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst confirmed to the media on Friday that he has no fresh injury concerns after the Gers’ 2-0 win over Sparta Prague on Thursday.
Next up for the new Rangers manager is his first league game in charge, which takes place at Almondvale on Sunday.
Ahead of that game, van Bronckhorst confirmed that he’ll be without two of his key players for the trip.
“No fresh injuries, the boys had a normal recovery today,” van Bronckhorst said on Friday, as quoted on Rangers’ official Twitter account.
“Roofe and Balogun will not be ready to play on Sunday.”
Van Bronckhorst will no doubt want to have a fully fit squad for the trip to Livingston.
However, just being without Roofe and Balogun isn’t the biggest of blows for the new Gers manager.
Alfredo Morelos returned to goalscoring form on Thursday night in the win over Sparta Prague while other players also performed well.
Sparta are better than most teams in the Scottish Premiership and Livingston, with respect, are one of them.
We hammered Livi at the start of this season without playing too well and also with a bunch of players missing.
Of course, that was at Ibrox but you’d imagine that this team, with their new manager at the helm, will be able to push past the Almondvale club without breaking much of a sweat.
In other Rangers news, a Sky Sports journalist has gone berserk over what’s been said about this Ibrox star.
