GvB hoping for new backroom staff addition at Rangers

Giovanni van Bronckhorst hopes that he will add a new member to his backroom staff at Rangers soon.

Speaking at his unveiling press conference, the Dutchman revealed his desire to add a new member and was hoping to have the deal completed in the next few days or weeks [Rangers YouTube].

Ross Wilson also added that the next member to arrive at Ibrox would be from Europe.

Van Bronckhorst said: “I would like to add one more member of the backroom staff; we’re working hard with Ross in achieving that.

“Hopefully, we can announce an addition to the staff in the next days or weeks.”

Wilson then added: “I know there’s a lot of noise about a Scottish or British person joining us. That is something we are open to moving forward, but the next addition will be someone else that joins us from Europe.”

The final addition isn’t far away.

Well, it seems as if the final addition to van Bronckhorst’s backroom team isn’t that far away.

Now, judging by the way he answered the question, you would have thought that he has a good idea of who he wants and that the deal might be close.

Wilson’s comments also suggest that they have identified a person as they confirmed officially that the Dutchman’s new backroom staff member would be from Europe.

So, it will be very interesting to see who gets the job, and you would imagine there will be a lot of people out there determined to join GvB at Ibrox.

This is a huge opportunity for any coach out there, and whoever it is who does come in, you would hope they are top quality and can make an immediate impact.

Overall, the press conference was a huge success as van Bronckhorst spoke well and said all the right things.
