Rangers-linked Joe White set to be offered extension at Newcastle
Rangers target Joe White is set to be offered a contract extension at Newcastle, according to a report in the Chronicle.
The 19-year-old has been on the Gers’ radar for a while and they could miss out on his services should he sign a new deal at the Premier League club.
White, a midfielder by trade, has also been linked with a move to Leeds United and they even submitted an offer for him last summer, which Newcastle turned down.

Must sign
The fact that he’s still not committed his future to Newcastle suggests that he could be available and a deal may be done.
Rangers would like to have a few more midfielders, given the uncertainty of some of their futures given Steven Gerrard’s departure.
White signed a professional deal at Newcastle in 2019 and has since grown from strength to strength.
While he’s not yet made his Premier League debut, he has been named on the bench and could make his first appearance very soon.

If Ross Wilson and co are actually interested then must tempt him with an offer and submit an official bid as soon as possible.
Newcastle are likely to spend big in January and White may find minutes hard to come by.
At Rangers, there’s a better chance of him getting regular time on the pitch in the league and also playing in Europe, hopefully in the Champions League next season.
