Michael Mols reacts as Rangers announce Giovanni van Bronckhorst
Michael Mols has sent his best wishes to Giovanni van Bronckhorst after Rangers hired him as their new manager on Thursday.
Rangers’ week-long bid to replace Steve Gerrard at the Ibrox helm concluded with van Bronckhorst agreeing to return to Glasgow, where he and Mols played together in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
There has been speculation surrounding whether Mols will return to Glasgow, according to Glasgow Evening Times journalist Chris Jack.
Mols hasn’t offered any hints about that speculation in his reaction to van Bronckhorst’s appointment but has still wished his fellow Dutchman all the best.
“Good luck,” said Mols on Rangers’ official Instagram post about Gio’s return to Govan.

Mols to join Gio?
If van Bronckhorst wants to get the band back together then we’re all for it.
Mols hasn’t had a coaching career so hiring him would be a bit out of the blue and rather unexpected when van Bronckhorst is likely to want to work with people he’s already worked with.
He had a proven backroom staff at Feyenoord, where he won the Eredivisie title in 2016/17 so we’d expect a number of those to come over to Glasgow to join up with Gio.
As for Mols, coaching may not be for him.
We may well see the former Ibrox striker return to the club every now and then to catch up with his old teammate or just to watch the mighty Rangers play.
But don’t expect him to be one of van Bronckhorst’s new coaches or even his assistant.
Roy Makaay, who Mols and van Bronckhorst both played with, looks set to join up with the new coaching team at Ibrox.
That makes a lot more sense due to his CV in coaching.
In other Rangers news, this senior player may be frozen out by van Bronckhorst now he’s arrived at Ibrox.
