Rangers midfielder Stephen Kelly on radars of British clubs

Rangers midfielder Stephen Kelly has been linked with a January exit amid interest in his services from a host of British clubs.

According to The Daily Record, a number of teams in England and Scotland want to sign the 21-year-old in the winter transfer window.

Steven Gerrard’s unceremonious exit for Aston Villa has left the midfielder’s future in a lurch.

Must keep him

Kelly has already started to impress those who have been scouting him and it’s no surprise that interest in his services is heating up.

He was watched earlier this week by scouts of English and Scottish clubs when the Scotland Under-21s took on Belgium.

Kelly put in another fine performance for his side and more displays like this could see him knocking on the manager’s door for a chance in the first team.

He would certainly want to be playing more at his age so if the new boss does not see him ready for that jump, he should be loaned out.

The 21-year-old, who has been labelled as “fantastic” by Gary McAllister [Daily Record], has impressed on his previous loan spells and could be another one from securing his spot in the first-team squad.

Kelly has only made a few senior appearances, which include a bow against Dunfermline in the Premier Sports Cup and also when the Gers took on Alashkert in the Europa League.

There’s a good chance that he gets some more games from now until the end of the season.
