Jim White has it confirmed Rangers and van Bronckhorst are close to finalising deal
Rangers and Giovanni van Brockhorst were close to finalising a deal for him to be the club’s new manager on Wednesday night, according to talkSPORT host Jim White.
Steven Gerrard quit Ibrox to take charge at Aston Villa last Thursday and one week later, it looks as though the Scottish champions are on the verge of finding his repacement.
Van Bronckhorst was in London for talks with the Gers at the weekend and it seems that since then, major progress has been made.
“Just had it confirmed that Rangers FC and representatives of Giovanni van Bronckhorst are close tonight (Wednesday) to finalising deal which will see the Dutchman become the club’s new manager,” said White via his personal Twitter account on Wednesday night.
Deal all but done
There are still bits and bobs that need to be sorted out for van Bronckhorst to become the new Rangers manager but all signs are now suggesting that this deal is all but done.
On Wednesday night, we saw all sorts of updates coming in about Gio and his move to Rangers to suggest that it’s going to happen.

We’ve been saying it for what seems like forever now but it sure feels as though it’s a matter of when and not if the former Feyenoord manager will be returning to Ibrox 20 years after he was sold to Arsenal as a player.
Van Bronckhorst should be a real hit here.
You can already tell that he has the backing of the fans with the Dutchman instantly the number one shout among supporters on social media and forums.
Numerous pundits have also shown their backing for Gio, whose work at Feyenoord suggests he could be the perfect fit here at Ibrox.
Of course, there’s a lot of work for him to do and it remains to be seen how he’ll settle down mid-season and try to keep the Gers on course for title number 56.
But we’re super confident of him being a smash hit here at Ibrox.
In other Rangers news, a BBC journalist has raised a potential issue with van Bronckhorst being hired.
