Giovanni van Bronckhorst cannot wait to get started at Rangers

Giovanni van Bronckhorst was officially unveiled as the Rangers manager on Thursday, replacing Steven Gerrard who joined Aston Villa.

The former Gers player was the favourite over the last week and was finally announced as the new manager.

Shortly after the announcement, he sent a digital message to the Ibrox faithful.

Via his personal Twitter account, he wrote, “I am very excited and proud to be returning to Rangers as the club’s new manager. I can’t wait to meet all of you.”

Finally done

Replacing Gerrard was not going to be an easy task, especially what he has done over the last few years.

He brought this club back to the summit of Scottish football and deserves immense credit for it.

However, he saw the Villa job as a stepping stone and the onus is now on van Bronckhorst to deliver.

He’s got to pick up from where the former Liverpool captain left off, and ensure that number 56 is secured this season.

Being a former player, he understands the club ethos and we believe that he’s the right man for the job.

We’re excited to see him implementing some of the classic Dutch principles to get the side to play the brand of football we like to watch.

It will take time to get his message across, but the moment he wins over the dressing room like Gerrard did, it’s only going to be good times ahead for the Glasgow giants.
