Van Bronckhorst in Glasgow to compete final details of Rangers contract
Giovanni van Bronckhorst is in Glasgow to finalise the last details of his contract to be the new Rangers manager, according to 90min.
The football news website reports that van Bronckhorst, 46, is now making plans to appoint his backroom staff that will work alongside him at Ibrox.
It is understood that the Gers are confident that the Dutchman will be unveiled as their new manager before the end of play on Friday after positive talks.

Is he in Glasgow?
If Gio’s in Glasgow, then we doubt that he will have come by plane because Rangers fans are tracking flights into the country like crazy.
On Tuesday, we saw how a plane landed at Glasgow Airport and was welcomed by Rangers’ security staff before the occupants were whisked away in black-out vehicles [Scottish Sun].
According to Glasgow Evening Times journalist Chris Jack, van Bronckhorst was not on that plane and neither were his representatives.
We’d assume that he’s still in the Netherlands but this update by 90min now claims that Gio is in Scotland ahead of putting the final touches to his contract to be the next Light Blues manager.
Van Bronckhorst must’ve come by train or smuggled in somehow because there would have been sightings of him if he was at Glasgow Airport – or any other airport in the UK – especially after the frenzy his appearance in London caused at the weekend.
We’re throwing doubt on this story, simply because we haven’t seen solid proof of Gio being in Glasgow.
He may well be, but let’s wait and see because this could be a mad 24 to 48 hours for Rangers fans.
In other Rangers news, a Celtic director has apologised at their AGM for what he said about the Gers in Walter Smith’s obituary.
