Rangers on verge of deal in principle with Giovanni van Bronckhorst
Rangers are close to agreeing a deal in principle with Giovanni van Bronckhorst for him to become their new manager, according to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth.
Writing on the Sky Sports website, along with Sahil Jaidka, Sheth has reported that van Brockhorst is edging closer to returning to Ibrox with Rangers “very pleased” with their hunt for a replacement for Steven Gerrard.
Van Bronckhorst was spotted in London at the weekend when he held “positive talks” with the Gers’ hierarchy before he returned to the Netherlands.

We’re almost there
It feels as though it’s been a very long week, doesn’t it?
It hasn’t even been seven days since Gerrard left Rangers and his arrival at Aston Villa was confirmed but since then, it’s all been about Gio.
Only one man has been spotted in the country for talks with the Light Blues and only one man has been seriously talked about.
There have been others who’ve featured on Ross Wilson’s shortlist but all the names we’ve seen have been ruled out in one way or another.
It just feels like a matter of time before van Bronckhorst’s return to Ibrox is made official but it might not happen until Saturday.
If he’s not in the country on Thursday, it’ll take a lot for all the relevant documents to be signed and sealed for an announcement to be made.
Friday will be all about Walter Smith as the late Ibrox legend’s memorial service will be held.
That leaves Saturday as the most likely day for an official announcement or unveiling.
In other Rangers news, the Gers have scheduled a press conference amid intense speculation.
