Kevin Thomson has suggested he may be set to return to Rangers with a cryptic tweet on his Twitter page today (Tuesday).
Giovanni van Bronckhorst is strongly linked with filling the managerial vacancy at Ibrox after Steven Gerrard left for Aston Villa last week.
According to The Times, Rangers want van Bronckhorst to have someone on his backroom staff who knows the Scottish champions well.

Thomson played for the Gers between 2007 and 2010 and was also a youth coach at Ibrox before moving to Kelty Hearts to be their manager earlier this year.
Now, Thomson has taken to Twitter to share an image of himself when he used to play for the Light Blues, accompanied by a shaking-hands emoji and a football.
Cryptic
It’s easy to read between the lines with everything that’s going on at Ibrox right now because everything can be made relevant to the situation at the Scottish champions.
Gerrard left us in a lurch last week by deciding to quit his role at Rangers to join Premier League strugglers Aston Villa ahead of two massive fixtures for the Scottish champions.
Rangers play Hibernian in the Scottish League Cup semi-final on Sunday before a must-win clash with Sparta Prague in the Europa League on Thursday.
They are defining matches in terms of the domestic competitions and our European exploits, and ones that are going to be huge tests for whoever comes in.
Thomson would be a superb addition to van Bronckhorst’s backroom staff if he is hired.
While he has very little experience as an actual manager, he knows things behind the scenes at Rangers like the back of his hand and also knows what the fans are like from his playing days at Ibrox.
Thomson would be a superb hire for Gio.
In other Rangers news, Gerrard has told Aston Villa’s chiefs to sign this player from the Gers.
