David Edgar would be shocked if Rangers announced new manager today

David Edgar has shared that he would be shocked if Rangers announced their new manager at Ibrox today [Tuesday].

Giovanni van Bronckhorst remains the favourite to take over in Glasgow from Steven Gerrard after he left for Aston Villa.

Edgar shut down texts received by fans suggesting there was a press conference booked, something he insists isn’t the case.

Speaking over on the Heart & Hand Patreon, Edgar shared the latest on the manager hunt over at Ibrox late on Monday.

“You may have seen Whatsapp’s saying Rangers have a press conference booked, they don’t,” he said.

“Not to say that an announcement won’t happen, but I’d be surprised if an announcement came tomorrow [Tuesday].”

Waiting game.

It was said that more talks were being held at the start of this week as the club clearly doesn’t rush their decision.

Van Bronckhorst held positive talks in London over the weekend and remains the strong frontrunner among candidates.

The Dutchman is said to be ready to take over, and all it will take is one call from Ross Wilson, who is clearly leaving no stone unturned and exploring every avenue.

The Blue Room has been set up at Ibrox as everyone has noticed, something that has sparked mass hysteria on social media.

Jermain Defoe, David McCallum, Brian Gilmour and Colin Stewart are currently taking charge of training, meaning that anything can be delayed if needed.
