The Times: Giovanni van Bronckhorst was hoping for Rangers contact on Sunday
Giovanni van Bronckhorst was hoping to hear from Rangers on Sunday over the vacant manager’s job, according to The Times.
In a Monday evening update on their website, the British newspaper claims the 46-year-old was waiting in expectation for contact from the Gers after his meeting in London on Saturday.
The Dutchman’s representative told Sky Sports [via Dharmesh Sheth’s personal Twitter profile] after the meeting that they held “positive talks”, and The Times now report that “sources in Holland” suggest he was happy with how it went.

Edging towards an announcement?
Events seem to have slowed down slightly since van Bronckhorst’s meeting on Saturday.
That’s probably to be expected as the Gers make their final deliberations and do their due diligence on him and other managers before deciding on Steven Gerrard’s successor.
The ex-Ibrox star’s agent told the media that talks with Rangers were positive but it was not completely obvious whether that was from his side, or his client.
But now sources in the Netherlands say that van Bronckhorst was indeed happy with how things went in London.
He was hoping to hear from the club on Sunday, but if he did, it doesn’t appear to have been complete confirmation that he has got the job.
The wait goes on for Rangers supporters who are desperate to see someone in place soon so that he has sufficient time to work with the squad ahead of Sunday’s League Cup semi-final clash at Ibrox.
In other Rangers news, Richard Keys has predicted fan fume after this big-name boss spoke out over the Ibrox job.
