Rangers Super Fans have flocked to a post on the Rangers Insider Facebook page about Connor Goldson’s future.
The Daily Record claim that Aston Villa are keen on signing the 28-year-old as his contract situation rumbles on.
They also claim that the Englishman would love to return to the Premier League, and a move to Villa Park would allow him to reunite with Steven Gerrard.
This has drawn the attention of our Super Fans, who are keen for Goldson to leave.
Goldson to leave?
The Englishman’s contract expires at Ibrox at the end of the season, but he is yet to sign a new deal and could leave the club for free.
However, they could decide to cash in and make some money from Goldson, which could ease the Gers’ financial situation and potentially strengthen the squad in other areas.
The centre-back has not been in the best of form this season, and a move away could be best for both him and the club.
Clearly, our Super Fans are keen to see Goldson leave the club, and a move to Villa makes sense.
The former Brighton & Hove Albion man became a key player for Gerrard during the 41-year-old’s time at Ibrox, so this would make a lot of sense if it were to happen.
Certainly, this is something to watch out for in January, and our Super Fans would like to see him out, which is fair enough.
