Rangers candidates told van Bronckhorst is No 1 target right now after presentation in London
Candidates for the manager’s job at Rangers have been told that Giovanni van Bronckhorst is their number one pick at the moment, according to The Times.
The newspaper reports that van Bronckhorst flew into London on Saturday to give a presentation to Stewart Robertson and Ross Wilson before returning to the Netherlands.
It is understood that the Dutchman will want assurances that he’ll have funds to spend in the transfer market after the recent announcement that the Gers lost £23.5million last season.

Gio or bust
If Rangers don’t hire van Bronckhorst as their new manager, there are going to be a lot of very disappointed supporters.
Ever since the speculation about Steven Gerrard leaving Ibrox to join Aston Villa started to grow more serious, Gio’s name was one of the first ones that fans started to mention.
Since then, it’s fairly obvious that the ex-Feyenoord manager, who won the Dutch Eredivise in 2016/17, has been the overwhelming favourite for the job.
Van Bronckhorst impressed in Rotterdam, is a former Rangers player, has also played for big clubs in Barcelona and Arsenal and is also talked up as someone who should be able to seamlessly replace Gerrard in the Ibrox hotseat.
He ticks all the boxes and that is likely to be why other candidates are being told that he’s the preferred choice right now. It just makes sense.
If Rangers don’t get Gio hired by Tuesday at the latest then we’ll be disappointed and nervous.
In other Rangers news, a BBC pundit has revealed “inside information” after being sent a text by an Ibrox-linked manager.
