Brian Rice tells Rangers to appoint Frank Lampard
Brian Rice believes that Rangers should go out and appoint Frank Lampard as their next manager.
Speaking to BBC Sportsound [via the Daily Record], the former Hamilton and Academical manager believes that Lampard would be the “perfect” replacement for Steven Gerrard.
The Gers are deep into their managerial search, and Lampard won’t be joining Norwich City, so could they make a move for the former Chelsea boss and England midfielder.

He said: “Me, personally? I think that Frank Lampard would be a perfect fit for Rangers.
“I look at Steven Gerrard, he was taking Liverpool Under-20s or 23s, and he came in and did that job that he’s done.
“Lampard went to Derby County, got his move to Chelsea and introduced fantastic young players. I loved his style of play.
“I just think he’s like Steven Gerrard was but with more experience.
“And I think someone with his charisma coming up from London and knowing how big the job is, I think that would be a perfect fit.”
Is Lampard a good fit?
Lampard has built up a good amount of experience in his short managerial career, and after the way his time ended at Chelsea, you would think he would want a chance to re-establish himself at the top.
Gerrard has laid some superb foundations that Lampard could build on going forward if he were to be given the job.

He favours an attacking style of football, which should please the fans, and if they don’t go for Giovanni van Bronckhorst, he should be the man they go for.
Rice makes a very good point about Lampard, and it would be intriguing to see if the Gers decide to make a move for the 43-year-old.
He seems like the sensible choice to follow on from Gerrard, so this next week or so could be quite fascinating as the Bears look to get a new gaffer.
In other Rangers news, Barry Ferguson has sent a warning to the Gers about Nathan Patterson.
