Sky Sports: Rangers set to continue manager hunt after Giovanni van Bronckhorst talks
Rangers are set to meet with other candidates despite “positive” talks with Giovanni van Bronckhorst on Saturday, according to Sky Sports News.
The Gers met the 46-year-old in London today [13/11/21] as they search for a new manager following Steven Gerrard’s exit to Aston Villa earlier this week.
Van Bronckhort’s agent subsequently told Sky Sports News that the talks were “positive”, as shared by Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth on his personal Twitter profile.

However, the Gers are still set to press ahead and meet with other shortlisted candidates this weekend, despite the positive noises emanating from the Dutchman’s camp.
Gennaro Gattuso and Derek McInnes, though, are not in the frame to succeed Gerrard at Ibrox.

Due diligence
This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise – van Bronckhorst may well be the number one candidate for the role, but the Gers will still want to interview as many capable managers as possible.
There may be others who have a less glittering CV than van Bronckhorst, and who do not hold as much affection amongst the Ibrox faithful, but they could be superb interviewers who blow the Rangers board away with their plans for the club.
Therefore, van Bronckhorst cannot be considered a certainty to take the manager’s job, but he’s definitely put himself firmly in contention, and the ex-Ibrox star seems to like what he’s hearing after talks today.
The race is well and truly on, and van Bronckhorst could be winning the race with just eight days until Rangers play next, a League Cup clash against Hibernian.
The Gers board will surely be desperate to have someone in place for that Ibrox encounter.
In other Rangers news, Ally McCoist sent a three-word message to this Gers man after a big recent development.
