Rangers defender James Tavernier opens up on Steven Gerrard to Aston Villa speculation
Rangers skipper James Tavernier has suggested that he hasn’t got any inside information of what’s going to happen with Steven Gerrard and only heard what fans have done.
The speculation is rife at the moment that Gerrard could leave the Ibrox club within this week to join Premier League outfit Aston Villa.
The Villans have made an approach to sign the Gers boss, and it has been claimed that Gerrard is interested in joining them.

Tavernier went live on Twitch this afternoon as he played Call of Duty with teammates Andy Firth and Ryan Jack.
He was bombarded with questions from Rangers fans asking whether Gerrard would leave the club to join Villa.
Tavernier said, as quoted by The Evening Times: “I see the same question getting asked. The chat is going wild. It has just blown up.
“This might not be good timing actually. If anyone is asking about the gaffer I don’t know.
“I have no idea what is happening. I am just reading what you are reading or hearing what you are hearing.”
Likely
Reports have surfaced that Gerrard moving to Aston Villa is good as done.
The Liverpool legend is all set to join the Midlands club along with his backroom staff.
According to Birmingham Live journalist Ashley Preece, an announcement is expected in the next 24-48 hours, if not sooner.
Earlier today, Gerrard has been spotted arriving at a train station in London, where Villa chief executive Christian Purslow is based.
Rangers first-team coach, Michael Beale is also in London which has further added fuel to the fire.
Gerrard will remain as a hero at Ibrox after he won the SPFL title last season. However, his potential exit is a massive blow for the club.
Rangers will get sizeable compensation from the English club, and it could aid them financially with the club saddled in a financial crisis.
At the moment, nothing has been confirmed yet, but it looks like Gerrard won’t be at the helm at Ibrox after the international break.
In other Rangers news, Jason Cundy has hit out at an Aston Villa fan for what he said about the Gers.
