Rangers team news v Ross County: Helander, Ofoborh out, Jack doubtful

Steven Gerrard has an almost fully-fit Rangers squad to play Ross County at Ibrox on Sunday, according to BBC Sport.

The broadcaster claims that the Gers boss has no fresh injury worries but will be without Filip Helander (knee) and Nnamdi Ofoborh (heart) for the Premiership clash.

Ryan Jack is edging closer to returning to fitness but it is understood that the meeting with the Staggies is likely to come too soon for the former Aberdeen midfielder.

Good news

It was never likely that Helander and Ofoborh would be available and while we do need the Sweden international back as soon as possible to help improve the defence, we should be able to beat Ross County without him.

As for Jack, it’s a shame that he’s been out for so long but will he get into the starting line-up any time soon once he is fit?

Jack’s going to have a long time trying to get himself back up to match fitness.

Luckily, there are a lot of matches to play once the upcoming international break is over so he should get some substitute appearances before hopefully getting a start in December.

But when he is fully fit, how long can he sustain that? Jack’s injury issues go back beyond the start of last season.

We worry that he may not be the same player when he comes back but his experience and leadership skills are something that will not have wained.
