Nick McPheat: Joe Aribo header v Ross County was brilliant

BBC’s Nick McPheat was thrilled by Joe Aribo’s header that helped Rangers equalise against Ross County on Sunday afternoon.

Steven Gerrard’s men got off to the worst possible start and found themselves trailing early on in the game.

However, Aribo scored the equaliser in the 19th minute and Ryan Jack scored their second a few minutes later to ensure the Gers take a lead going into the break.

Via the BBC live feed, McPheat wrote, “Brilliant header from Joe Aribo.

“James Tavernier delivers a perfect outswinging corner and Aribo glances into the far corner.

“Yet another assist for the captain.”

Early scare

Gerrard’s men started this game in the worst possible way by conceding an early goal.

However, they soon made up for it with two goals to give themselves a lead at half-time.

Ryan Kent scored the Gers’ second goal to give the hosts the advantage at half-time.

Despite a slow start, the hosts grew into the game and scored the goat that gave them the lead.

It’s important that he continue playing the way they did, as it’s imperative that they pick up maximum points against Ross County.

Currently, they sit four points clear of Celtic and failure to win this game would only narrow the gap.

That certainly is not what Gerrard or the Ibrox faithful would want, so he needs to get into the minds of the players and ensure they come out stronger for the second period.
