Amy Irons and Steven Thompson predict scoreline of Rangers v Ross County

Rangers host Ross County in the Premiership on Sunday and will be looking to continue from where they stopped against Motherwell last weekend.

The Light Blues strolled to a 6-1 win at Fir Park to consolidate their position at the top of the table, and Steven Gerrard will expect a similar performance when the Staggies visit Ibrox.

Malky Mackay’s men blew Dundee away during the week, winning 5-0 to pick up their first victory of the campaign.

Rangers

The battle between first and last should not produce a lot of fireworks, though, and former Rangers striker Steven Thompson has predicted a 3-0 win for the Gers over Ross County on the BBC Sport website.

BBC Sport Scotland presenter Amy Irons has opted for a 3-1 scoreline in favour of the Bears.

Easy win

The Victoria Park outfit have seven defeats and three draws so far, conceding 22 goals and scoring 17.

Coming up against Rangers will be a tough task for the visitors given the contrasting fortunes both teams have experienced so far.

The Light Blues have not always impressed, but they should not struggle to put the weakest team in the land to the sword.

Gerrard could ring the changes and hand some of the fringe players opportunity to impress this afternoon, and that should not stop the defending champions from strolling to a comfortable win.

Rangers

A high-scoring clash is expected, with Rangers most likely to keep a clean sheet.

Ross will be heading into the clash full of belief, though, after their last result.

They will fancy their chances of survival this term, and leaving Ibrox with a draw will be seen as an upset.

Given how the campaign has gone so far, just anything is possible in this clash between both teams at the opposite ends of the table.
