Chris Sutton slams Alfredo Morelos after Rangers rescue 1-1 draw v Brondby
Chris Sutton has blasted Alfredo Morelos after the Rangers striker failed to impress in the 1-1 with Brondby on Thursday night.
Steven Gerrard’s men dropped two vital points in their bid to qualify for the Europa League knock-out stages as they would have moved up to second in Group A with a victory.
Morelos, 25, had a goal ruled out in the sixth minute. The Colombian scored from a James Tavernier corner but the ball was judged to have gone out of play after the right-back’s cross.

Despite being unfortunate in that sense, ex-Celtic striker Sutton was less than impressed with Morelos’ performance and took a swipe at him on BT Sport 2 later on Thursday night.
“Rangers are a superior team to Brondby but you have to go out and show it,” said Sutton.
“The subs clearly made a difference in the second half, [Gerrard] is clearly not happy with the performance.
“Morelos, who again, I think has been a disappointment.
“He’s such a talented player but [Gerrard] hooked him off.”

Why just Morelos?
It’s funny how it’s always Morelos who gets singled out by the media after Rangers fail to win a game.
During his time in Scotland, El Bufalo has been painted as the villain by certain sections of the media.
Yes, he has a fiery side to him and yes, that has seen him show ill discipline and led to plenty of off-the-ball incidents and suspensions.
However, Morelos seems to have a better handle on his temperament now and isn’t getting into these needless scuffles. Yet he’s still highlighted after every single game the Gers play.
He was very unlucky to have his goal chalked off in Denmark on Thursday night.
While he could have played better, he wasn’t the only one but he’s the only player who Sutton singled out for criticism after the disappointing 1-1 draw.
Ianis Hagi and Ryan Kent deserved credit for their impact off the bench to rescue a point at Brondby but what did the other players do to avoid criticism?
Did Sutton see Leon Balogun’s own goal?
