Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield revealed earlier this week that he has not received any contract extension offer from the Ibrox club.

The Canadian midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season, and he is free to speak with other clubs over a move in the coming months.

The Gers are in a danger to lose him for free. Arfield has suggested that there’s still time to get his future sorted, but right now he is only focussing on his future.

The 33-year-old has struggled for regular games this term. He has only managed 13 appearances in all competitions for Rangers, including only six in the Scottish Premiership.

Arfield is a quality player, and he has played a big role under Steven Gerrard in previous seasons. He was superb last week in the 6-1 win over Motherwell, and could feature against Brondby in the Europa League clash on Thursday.

It’s been a frustrating campaign for him, but he has stated his desire to make an impact this season. Rangers are unlikely to make a big profit from his sale in January, so it’s wise to keep him at the club and hand him a one-year contract extension.

We asked our esteemed panel of Super Fans over on Rangers Insider whether Rangers should sell him in January or keep him at the club.

The response was emphatic, with nearly every single person demanding the club to hand him a new deal. There is a feeling that all he needs is a few games under his belt.
