David Edgar hits out at Daily Record headline over Rangers-Ross County controversy
Heart & Hand Podcast owner David Edgar has blasted the Daily Record for their headline about the issue surrounding Ross County fans attending their clash with Rangers on Sunday.
Ross County were initially handed 900 tickets for away fans at Ibrox but due to the Staggies wanting a ‘red zone’ around their bench and the home support, Rangers fans are being moved to where the away fans would usually be sat.
However, the Daily Record have framed the story as though the Scottish Premiership leaders are doing something unfair against Ross County, claiming they have snubbed the chance for away fans to travel to Ibrox this weekend.

Edgar, who runs Rangers’ official media partner the Heart & Hand, has hit back at the newspaper, taking to his personal Twitter account on Tuesday to say: “Yet more utter pish from this lot. What’s worse is it has been commonly discussed on here for days.
“Ross County asked for a Red Zone, Rangers pointed out that meant no tickets, they understood that.
“They never HAD an allocation which both clubs will confirm. It’s basic stuff!”
Typical
This isn’t Rangers’ problem. It’s not Ross County’s either.
It’s simply something that’s unavoidable with the COVID-19 pandemic.
Ross County are well within their rights to request a red zone around their substitutes and coaching staff at Ibrox. If clubs want to do that then we don’t blame them at all.
However, they will do that knowing that it would be unfair on the Gers fans in that area to be told they’re not allowed to go to the game.
The best route of action is to house those fans elsewhere at Ibrox. While not ideal, it’s got to happen.
And the club is obviously going to put their own fans before those of Ross County.
Other clubs would do it for their fans if Rangers requested similar at their grounds but all of their grounds are so empty that they rely on the Bears to fill seats and provide them with income.
Ross County are unlikely to have an issue with this – but the Daily Record are sure trying to make it seem that way.
What a shock.
