Incredible footage emerges at Fir Park ahead of Rangers clash v Motherwell

Rangers travel to Motherwell on Sunday afternoon looking to return to winning ways in the Scottish Premiership.

The Bears drew 2-2 against Aberdeen last time out, watching their lead at the top of the league slip to two points.

Motherwell have already taken a point away from Rangers this season, drawing 1-1 against the run of play at Ibrox.

Incredible footage has emerged on Friday, though, with Fir Park underwater for most of the day.

Alan Burrows, Motherwell’s Chief Executive has shared the videos on his personal Twitter account, with water pipes looking as though they had exploded near the tunnels.

As you can see in the footage below, the disaster led to the tunnel and dug-outs being flooded – although they have now been thankfully restored.

“Managed to save the tunnel… Just,” he wrote.

Sigh of relief.

This is one of those incidents that could easily have escalated.

Thankfully, it has been sorted in a quick manner by Motherwell, and the game will be good to go ahead on Sunday.

It would have taken extreme measures to see the game cancelled this early in advance, though, and a bigger pipe failure would surely have been needed.

Rangers will be raring to go this week, and they need to be on the top of their game to bounce back and really kickstart this season.

It has been nothing short of terrible compared to last season, but we still top of the table and that has to be the motivation – keep that spot.

Conditions may not be the best at Fir Park should this dismal weather continue, but we expect nothing short of three points.
