Rangers sent warning by Neil Alexander

Former Rangers goalkeeper Neil Alexander has warned his current club about their form in the Scottish Premiership.

Speaking on the Go Radio Football Show [via the Daily Record], Alexander highlighted the importance of Ryan Jack, Filip Helander, and Ryan Kent.

He also believes that some of Steven Gerrard’s players are struggling to play in front of the Ibrox crowd.

He said: “I think definitely Helander is a huge miss, obviously Jack and Kent as well. Three very consistent players from last season.

“I was at the game last night, and I’ve watched a lot of Rangers, and they’re lacking that little bit of quality in the wider areas and in front of goal.

“And the fans have been getting on top of them, and it has been different for them. Last season [it was] easy to play with no fans; it’s like a closed-door reserve game.

“Whereas now the Rangers fans are starting to get annoyed with it, they’re starting to get irritated, and they let the players know about it.”

Alexander makes some valid points.

Certainly, you would have to say that the Gers have missed Helander as he was a key part of the defence last season.

Jack has been missing for a lot longer, but he has been praised in the past by Gerrard for setting standards, so the quicker he is back, the better [Glasgow Live].

Kent has actually played most of the season but has struggled to find any sort of form.

So, you could argue that they don’t actually miss him that much. The point about playing in front of the crowd is a load of nonsense, really.

A lot of this side have played in front of a massive crowd before, so they shouldn’t struggle with that, really.

There must be something else going on because we are now quite a way into the season, and we are still waiting for the Bears to get going, and the gap at the top of the table is closing.
