Police launch major investigation into missiles thrown during Rangers v Aberdeen

The police have launched an investigation into missiles thrown during the Rangers game against Aberdeen on Wednesday night.

The Daily Record claim that the incident happened after Scott Brown scored the Dons’ second and involved a bottle being thrown in the direction of the away players.

The bottle didn’t do any damage as Dean Campbell caught it as it fell from the sky, but an investigation has been launched anyway.

Police are not messing around.

It is a shame that someone decided to launch a bottle at the Aberdeen players, and they are lucky that no one was hurt.

No one in a football crowd should think it is acceptable to do that, and we hope that the person responsible is caught and punished because they can’t be doing that.

Yes, Brown as a former Celtic man scoring at Ibrox is going to hurt but to actually throw a bottle onto the pitch intending to cause harm is just pathetic, really.

Therefore, it is good to see that the police have launched an investigation into the events on Wednesday night. Hopefully, there is a quick conclusion, and they find the person responsible.

The Gers were pretty flat on Wednesday night and needed a very soft penalty to salvage anything from the game, and it is clear that the frustration was too much to take for some.

However, that still is no excuse for throwing a bottle onto the pitch – how can we have a leg to stand on when the likes of Brondby doing the same at Ibrox caused such controversy too?
