Rangers team news v Aberdeen: Ryan Jack and Ryan Kent edge closer to return
Ryan Jack and Ryan Kent are edging closer to a return for Rangers but are doubtful to play against Aberdeen at Ibrox on Wednesday night, according to Sky Sports.
The broadcaster reports that Steven Gerrard “will assess his squad options” ahead of their next Scottish Premiership fixture.
While there are encouraging signs with Jack and Kent, it is understood that Filip Helander and Nnamdi Ofoborh are definitely ruled out of the clash with the Dons.

Consistency – or time to rotate?
Rangers have shown signs that their stuttering start to the season is smoothing out and performances are improving.
We saw the Geres at their very best against Brondby in the Europa League last week but that 2-0 win over the Danes was followed up by a rather sluggish display away at St Mirren.
Gerrard’s had injury and selection issues to contend with in the opening weeks of this season but after making no outfield changes from the Brondby win to the St Mirren win suggests the boss is seeking some kind of consistency.
While Jack and Kent are edging back to fitness, we would not expect to see them start against Aberdeen.
The Dons have had a poor start to the season but that doesn’t mean we can be complacent and throw in players who aren’t ready.
We may see one or two changes by Gerrard when it comes to announcing his team to play Aberdeen. But we doubt that there’ll be too many as the manager finally starts to try naming a consistent starting line-up.
In other Rangers news, a high-profile exit could Ibrox could be on the cards after BBC Sport’s latest update.
