Cardiff City eye Rangers coach Michael Beale to replace Mick McCarthy
Cardiff City are considering a move to hire Rangers coach Michael Beale as their new manager, according to BBC Sport Wales journalist Rob Phillips.
Writing on the BBC Sport website, Phillips reports that after Mick McCarthy left Cardiff at the weekend, the English Championship club could turn their attention towards Steven Gerrard’s first-team coach Beale.
Jody Morris is also under consideration in the Welsh capital with 41-year-old Beale proving to be a key part of Gerrard’s coaching team in the last three years.

Hands off
We’ve seen all the rumours linking Gerrard with a move to Newcastle United as they try to find Steve Bruce’s replacement.
If that happens, it may increase the chances of Beale moving on as he’s clearly someone who works well alongside Gerrard.
However, if Gerrard stays, we’d expect Beale to stay too and even if the Gers boss does move on, the former Liverpool and Chelsea coach could be a replacement for him here at Ibrox.

Gerrard’s done so much good in his three years at Ibrox.
He’s revolutionised not only the squad but also the coaching team at Auchenhowie.
It’s resulted in title number 55 arriving at Ibrox last season and, as a result, the end of domination by the other team in Glasgow.
We hope Beale stays and Cardiff turn their attention elsewhere but this just shows how good a job he’s done at Ibrox and elsewhere in his career.
Here at Ibrox News, we’re confident that he’ll end up staying and Cardiff will go for someone who is out of contract.
