Leanne Crichton: Alfredo Morelos will be disappointed despite Rangers winner v St Mirren

Rangers star Alfredo Morelos managed to finally grab his 100th goal for the club in the 2-1 win over St Mirren.

The Colombian international has been heavily questioned in recent weeks, and will have hoped that this milestone would have silenced those.

Leanne Crichton has continued that question though, admitting that despite the “incredible” achievement, Morelos will be disappointed.

Speaking on BBC Sportscene last night, Crichton believes that his total tally for this season is nowhere near enough.

“He absolutely is [prolific],” she said.

“If you’re going to make a defensive mistake, the last person you want hanging off your shoulder is Alfredo Morelos, because he’s there to knock the ball home.

“He gets that 100th goal, and it’s an incredible goal tally that he’s got, but I do think that this season, he’ll be disappointed, three isn’t enough.”

Disappointing?

All the signs of a player being unhappy have been highlighted by Morelos since the start of this season at Ibrox.

Looking at the win over Brondby in midweek, the Bufalo was slow and loose in his play and then sulked as he was replaced and forced to sit on the bench for the final half an hour.

Steven Gerrard called for more goals after that game, and he got what he was wanting after that – something that will have delighted him.

Morelos has admitted that he would be open to leaving Ibrox after sealing his goal of winning the Scottish Premiership last season.

With Champions League football on the line once again this season, Gerrard will be desperate to keep hold of his star man, disappointing or not.
