Kris Boyd reacts as Morelos hits Rangers 100 club v St Mirren
By Jake Gray
Sky Sports pundit Kris Boyd has praised Alfredo Morelos after he netted his 100th Rangers goal on Sunday afternoon in the 2-1 win at St Mirren.
The Colombian forward has been under pressure for his lack of goals in recent times, but his header today proved vital as his side defeated St Mirren to go three points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
Boyd, who won six trophies in his time at Rangers, praised Morelos for scoring ‘important goals’ for Steven Gerrard’s side.

Speaking after the match on Sky Sports Football on Sunday, Boyd said: “He scored the winner against Hibs a few weeks ago, he’s now scored the winner today, it’s important goals.
“Yes, there’s other sides to his game that are not clicking at this moment in time, but he could quite easily be shying away.
“Steven Gerrard has taken him off, he’s had a little pop at him recently as well, but he’s answered him the right way today, it’s not as if he’s went off the pitch sulking.
“There was a lot of his game today that could’ve been a lot better, but he’s won the match for Rangers and got his 100th goal in the process.”

The fight of champions?
Rangers were left stunned in the early stages of the match in Paisley as Connor Ronan’s wondergoal left them trailing, but they showed the fight and determination to come back and win the three points.
Ianis Hagi showed good skill as he drifted into the box and was brought down by Allan Power, leaving the referee with no option but to point to the spot. Kemar Roofe remained calm and collected to step up and slot the ball home for the equaliser.
Moments later, there was bedlam in the away end as James Tavernier sent a ball into the box to be met by the head of Morelos to flip the game on its head.
Rangers performed professionally in the second half to stay ahead and could have scored more goals to put the game to bed. The determination shown by the Ibrox side is something that will stand them in good stead if they are to retain their status as Scottish champions at the end of the season.
In other Rangers news, Andy Walker says this player was involved in an “embarrassing” moment versus St Mirren.
