Neil Alexander drools over Rangers defender Leon Balogun v Brondby
Leon Balogun scored the opening goal as Rangers secured a 2-0 victory against Brondby in the Europa League clash on Thursday night at Ibrox.
Kemar Roofe scored the other goal in the first half with the Gers getting help from VAR. The officiating during the game wasn’t of high standards as the referee failed to give a blatant penalty to Joe Aribo.
Former Rangers goalkeeper, Neil Alexander, was full of praise for Balogun for the goal. The 33-year-old scored from a header, with James Tavernier delivering a peach of a cross in the build-up to the goal.

“It’s a great corner from Tavernier and a bullet header from Balogun. The keeper gets a hand to it but it’s not strong enough,” said Alexander on BBC Sportsound.
Tavernier was pelted by some objects thrown by Brondby away fans as he prepared to take the corner. He silenced the away section with a fantastic delivery and the header from Balogun was equally brilliant.
Injury
The centre-back limped off during the second half and he was substituted. The Nigeria international appeared to pick up a hamstring issue during the game.
He was later spotted walking around pitchside that gives the impression that probably his problem is not so serious.

Rangers will face St Mirren in their next league game, and Steven Gerrard hasn’t ruled him out of Sunday’s visit to Paisley.
Gerrard has confirmed that the Nigerian centre-back will be given every chance to prove his fitness, but he still remains a major doubt for the weekend clash.
Balogun’s potential absence will come as a blow for Rangers as they are short of options at the back. Filip Helander is a long-term absentee, while Nikola Katic is currently on loan in Croatia.
On the injury front, Rangers can hope to recall the likes of Ryan Jack and Ryan Kent, with the former returning to the training for the first time this season.
In other Rangers news, Bears fans will be buzzing with major Jim White-talkSPORT update on Thursday.
