Everton to make January bid for Rangers defender Nathan Patterson
Everton are reportedly planning to make another bid for Rangers defender Nathan Patterson in the January transfer window.
According to reports from Scottish Daily Mail (printed edition; page 80), the Toffees want to make another attempt to sign the youngster.

Patterson is a highly-rated right-back at Ibrox, and he has heavily impressed this season already. The youngster has also featured for the Scotland national team this month.

During the summer transfer window, Everton made an £8million bid (Sky Sports) to sign the teenager, but the offer was rebuffed.
Premier League giants Manchester United are also reportedly interested in signing him. However, it is Everton who are in dire need of a right-back as Rafael Benitez is keen to sign a long-term replacement for Seamus Coleman.
The report claims that billionaire-owned Everton [Forbes] were preparing a bid of over £10million for Patterson in the summer, but his isolation due to Covid-19 had scuppered the move.

Big decision
Patterson is earning rave reviews from former players, managers, coaches and teammates for his meteoric rise.
Earlier this month, Peter MacDonald [Daily Record] hailed him as a “big asset” for the club, suggesting Rangers should not consider selling him in January.
He claimed that Patterson has the potential to be a regular starter at Ibrox and that the 19-year-old is an “exciting” prospect.
If Rangers receive a big-money offer for Patterson, they will probably sell him. However, it has to be a really tempting offer.
Patterson is happy at Rangers and has said before that transfer speculation does not bother him. He will have plenty of opportunities to move away from Scotland if he keeps on performing well.
It looks like Benitez really wants the youngster to join him at the Merseyside club, and it will be interesting to see how much they are willing to pay for him.
